one of the first things people ask you when they find out your pregnant: “what are you craving?”
they’re always going on about pickles or olives or something weird. honestly, i wish i were that cool. i’ve pretty much been on the see-food diet. i see it, i want to eat it. all of it. immediately. (please pass the chicken wings, thank you.)
but i’d be lying if i said i wasn’t craving anything at all. i do crave one thing. tomatoes. fresh ones. the little itty bitty ones that take a bite to eat, or the big, fat, meaty ones that squelch when you press them. ugh… more tomatoes!
unluckily for me, the canned shit gives me the worst indigestion/heartburn/acid reflux (whatever the hell name you want to give it), to the point where i’ve had to self-impose an elimination diet and cut. it. out. that means no pasta, no pizza, no … i don’t know what else i would eat with tomato sauce so we’ll stop there.
on the bright side, a fresh tomato does me no harm, which is great, because one of my fav salads is caprese! today i found this balsamic glaze at the grocery store. watch out, baby, it’s going to be all caprese, all the time. that’s healthy, right?
